The IB Vision 2020
Our CAWS fall conference on November 2, 2009 takes place at the Sheraton Suites Hotel in downtown San Diego beginning at 7am. Early registration is available November 1 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, with time to meet and greet old friends and explore downtown San Diego. We are very pleased to feature Drew Deutsch, Regional Director IB Americas, as our keynote speaker. His remarks will focus on the ways the IB will be structured and the strategies it will need to employ in order to expand access and opportunity fit for 21st Century global needs. There is a Q &A session and then time for an informal discussion with him of IB Programme Issues of concern to teachers and administrators. Breakout groups for each of the three Programmes will allow teachers to share their concerns with the Regional Director who will visit each session. In the afternoon we will preview the spring conference as we start to focus on sharing teachers’ best practices of making the Learner Profile a working document. We have changed the CAWS business meeting to the afternoon based on your suggestions. After making considerable revisions to update our Bylaws, they are ready for a membership vote and we will present new members of the Board of Directors.
