Building and Maintaining IB Excellence

CAWS, the Association of IB World Schools, represents IB Primary Years, Middle Years, and Diploma Programmes in public and private schools throughout California and Nevada.

Over the past nineteen years CAWS has served as an information conduit for California IB schools and their communities and as a liaison to the International Baccalaureate. To support the continued growth of the IB in California, the association has secured recognition and college credit for the 30 point IB Diploma from the University of California. It has sponsored successful state legislation to provide funding for teacher training in Diploma schools, and to those schools establishing a Middle Years Programme. Each summer CAWS provides authorized IB training workshops for Diploma/MYP/PYP teachers. Scholarships totaling $5000 are given yearly to students and teachers from all three IB Programmes.

Year twenty is a milestone for CAWS. It represents not only the successes of our past but is filled with new opportunities to invest in our schools and to explore our potential.
